Services 1. Linked sensor data

 

The semantic annotation of Sound Pressure Level (SPL) sensors and data enables tasks of detecting and tracking specific events within spatial zones of interest. A semantic annotation is introduced by registering the SPL sensor into the OpenIoT platform. OpenIoT will annotate and store the data sensed by each sensor, keeping not only the data values acquired but also information related with the physical properties that such values represent, as well as, time and localisation characteristics. This behaviour allows to a user to browse historical data/events in specific areas (e.g. in a street, in a city district), in specific periods of time without the need of the knowledge about the localisation of specific sensors.

Services 2. Notification system

 

Noise can be used to several applications, such as are noise maps or detection of outstanding situations. Focusing on the outstanding situations, noise can be used to detect them, even without complex processing. For example, a road has a usual noise level, but at some point a peak out of the nominal values occures, one can assume that an event could have occurred there, such as a car crash. The notification system, except using it to alert nearby users can be also used for to notify public services about events that are occuring in a real-time.

Services 3. Streaming publish/subcribe system

 

The developed system can receive data streams from multiple sensors, where users can subscribe to a specific data or event. With the set up of only one connection to the system a user have access to filtered data streams from different sources. When a new data stream becomes available, a user will receive data if the source is publishing data that overlapps with the user subscription without any additional request.

Integrate noise sensors into OpenIoT

 

A service created for emergency services that take advantage of noise sensors installed in the environment. It discovers an emergency service vehicle and helps them to make efficient travel through crowded areas combining technologies provided by the OpenIoT and EAR-IT platform and SMART santander noise sensors.
